Frequently Asked Questions

How can I schedule an appointment?

It’s easy! Visit our “Scheduling” tab, and choose the date and time that works best for you. Looking for a quote or just have a question about the process? Write us an email at info@luvercreations.com and we’ll get back to you straightaway!

What should I bring to my appointment?

For your first appointment, we request that you bring your gown and any other accessories (like veils, boleros, belts) that you need to have altered. For all appointments, please bring the shoes and any undergarments you plan to wear. If you plan to wear shapewear, a bra, or religious undergarments on your special day, please make sure to bring the item with you to all of your fittings!

What do your different services cost?

At Luver Creations, we provide three main services: bridal and evening alterations; vintage alterations and redesign; and custom design creation. Bridal and evening alterations typically range between $350 and $1350, while vintage alterations and redesign usually cost between $850 and $1500. The cost of creating a custom piece varies significantly depending on the design, but we can create a custom wedding gown for $2500-$5500.

Each of these ranges is just an estimate! We have had the opportunity to provide bridal alterations for as little as $150 for very basic tailoring, and fit beautiful vintage pieces for as little as $240. We’re happy to provide quotes based on photos of your gown before you come to the studio! Just write to us at info@luvercreations.com and be sure to include photos!

How far in advance should I have my items altered?

We recommend bringing your items in for alterations two to four months before your special day. We are able to accommodate rush alterations in as little as two weeks, but charge additional fees to accommodate the urgency of your alterations. If you’re not sure when to begin scheduling alterations fittings, we’re happy to help! Simply reach out to us over email and we’ll provide some guidance.

I scheduled my appointment, but I need to reschedule! What do I do?

No worries! You can either hit “reschedule” on your appointment confirmation email, or just reach out to us by email or text. We’re happy to help! If you’d like to reschedule for a time you don’t see available (especially in the evening or on a weekend!) just let us know! The benefit of being a small, family owned studio is that we can be very flexible.

What makes Luver Creations different?

Luver Creations is dedicated to creating beautiful memories with our clients. Whether we’re creating a custom quinceañera gown, transforming your grandmother’s wedding gown, or fitting your brand-new designer dress perfectly to you, we want you to feel comfortable, cared for, and clear about the process! Our owner and head seamstress, Luvia, has spent her career bringing honest, ethical pricing to clients across the Mid-Atlantic area, and ensuring that every detail is perfect. As a result, our work is uniquely well-priced, made with love, and perfect down to the smallest detail.

What should I do if I plan to lose or gain weight before my wedding?

The answer depends on what type of body composition change you’re seeking. If you’re planning on gaining or losing a couple of inches through standard diet and exercise, we highly recommend you finish that process before you begin your alterations.

If you’re undergoing medical weight loss or weight gain therapy, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible. This knowledge helps us schedule fittings strategically to ensure your gown fits perfectly on your actual wedding day. Again, we do recommend that you reach the size you and your medical care team are aiming for before you begin alterations.

How do I get to the studio?

Luver Creations is located at 6371 Little River Turnpike in Alexandria, Virginia. We are able to offer free parking on site! When you arrive, just head to the second floor where our community will greet you. We can’t wait to meet you!

Is it ok to come to the studio without an appointment?

Of course! We’d love to meet you. We do ask that you give us a few minutes’ notice so that we can ensure we are able to meet you at the door, as we often keep the door closed when we’re busy sewing!
